Background:

The first chapter of DOMINION was originally published as a standalone short in Comic Yomihon SF Special (a special issue of Monthly ComiComi) in 1985.
Subsequent episodes appeared in the regular Monthly ComiComi magazine (January, February, and August 1986 issues), and were later compiled into this single volume.

In 1993, DOMINION was re-released as DOMINION F by Seishinsha with additional material from Phantom of Audience (Special Graphics Dominion) and DOMINION FILE (from Dominion Club art book).

The story’s beloved tank, "Bonaparte," was reportedly inspired by the powered suit illustration drawn by Naoyuki Kato (Studio Nue) for Robert A. Heinlein's Starship Troopers (Hayakawa SF Series).
The design was simplified, stripped of limbs, and merged with mini-patrol aesthetics to fit Shirow’s whimsical mechanical vision.

Despite being a light-hearted mecha action series, DOMINION features some of the roughest linework in Shirow’s catalog, likely due to his heavy workload at the time: working on Appleseed Vol. 2–3 and contributing storyboards to the Black Magic M-66 anime adaptation.

Condition:

Overall in good vintage condition with some age-related yellowing, minor creases, and edge wear on the cover.
