VG- / VG. 1970 Ace 87370, first printing. Softcover. According to legend (actually…Wikipedia), Raucher wrote this novelization of his own screenplay in an attempt to rectify issues he had with Melvin Van Peebles during the film shoot. Raucher felt that Van Peebles had turned the film into a pro Black Power message, while his original intention was to skewer white Americans and white guilt. Tie-in to the 1970 Melvin Van Peebles film starring Godfrey Cambridge and Estelle Parsons.
