This antique late 19th century gentleman's correspondence box/safe stands as a testament to the era's craftsmanship.

Made by renowned safe company Chubb & Sons of London England - note the sought after lock used to identify tampering.

Second to note is the intact inkwell in the top left corner of the uppermost tray.  This is a glass inkwell secured with a brass ring positioned in a leather clad box with brass fastener.  These are almost alway missing in these kits.

Overall this is made of wood construction covered with black leather covering in better condition than most examples. Misc items such as stamps, colored pencils (3xred, 3x blue) pen tips and leads.

This piece serves not only as a functional safe but also as a distinguished decorative item, perfect for collectors and enthusiasts of antique curiosities. Its robust construction and historical value make it an alluring addition to any curated collection or as a unique statement piece in a variety of interior settings.

Other examples discovered range in value.  1600£ (2600CAD), 1600 USD.
