Description

MTA Plus is a specialized dental cement based on Di and Tri-Calcium Silicate, derived from advanced material research in inorganic hydraulic powder technology. MTA Plus is indicated for both vital pulp therapy and Endodontics procedures.

MTA Plus is a powder & liquid/gel system consisting of an extremely fine, inorganic powder of Tricalcium and Dicalcium silicate, which sets with water or gel. The powder is supplied in a protective desiccant – lined container for freshness.

Indications :

Dental procedures contacting vital pulp tissue such as :

  • Pulp capping
  • Cavity lining
  • Pulpotomies

Dental procedures contacting the periradicular tissues such as :

  • Root-end fillings
  • Apexification
  • Perforation repair
  • Root resorption
  • Sealing
  • Obturation (pulpectomy)

Contraindications:

  • Hypersensitivity against caustic (high pH) solutions.

Key specification

Composition :
Powder consists of mixture of Calcium Oxide, Silicon Oxide, Bismuth Oxide.
Gel is hydrated polymer gel.

Solubility : <2%

Radiopacity : 5 mm equivalent of aluminum

Setting Time at 37°C : < 1 hr. when thickly mixed with gel

Dimensional stability after 30 days : <+0.1% expansion

Film thickness : <50 μm when mixed 1:1 Powder:Gel, otherwise higher.

 

Compressive strength : 80MPa after 7 days when mixed 3:1 Powder : Gel

Pb and As : < 2 ppm
