■Takaoka copperware is the generic name for copperware manufactured in Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture, Japan.

The products exhibited at the Paris World Exposition in 1867 were highly acclaimed.

On February 17, 1975, it was designated as a traditional craft by the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry.

Takaoka is a major producer of fine copperware in modern Japan, and its diverse techniques, ranging from large-scale products such as Buddhist bells and bronze statues to small indoor ornaments and Buddhist ritual objects Takaoka is famous throughout Japan for its diverse techniques.

The origin of Takaoka copperware dates back to 1609 (Keicho 14)

Foundry workers of Kanaya have a history dating back to the Muromachi period, and the origin of Takaoka copperware dates back to the same period.
