If you need off-grid hot water, this is a great solution for everything from cleaning to bathing to canning. Some folks even make off-grid hot tubs with them. They are portable so you can move one units around to multiple applications. They clamp to the side of a container like a drum or stock tank and the burn chamber is underwater. I have brough a 55 gallon drum of water to a rolling boil with one of these! No moving parts when its in use, just a valve you turn on and off and gravity feed does all the rest.
They make 35,000 BTU of heat when run at moderate fuel with what the Army termed "acceptable smoke" but when turned up full blast tested to 132,000 BTU! The fuel tank holds 2.2 gallons and when run at the 35,000 BTU output using gasoline the heater will run about 7 hours per tank, other fuels may vary up or down from that.

These can be run on gasoline, white gas, diesel, kerosene or any mix of these fuels. Some people mix used waste oil in with the fuel as well. If using diesel fuel or kerosene we have found that keeping some charcoal lighter on hand to use for initial lighting and heating makes it much easier to start them. They can heat large amounts of water very quickly totally off grid with no electricity needed, my customers have used them for everything from heating hot water at off grid cabins to large scale canning to heating livestock water tanks in the winter so they don't freeze.
