an antique, 17th or 18th century, carved wooden statue of a female Saint, perhaps

Saint Lucy - St. Lucia of Syracuse

because of her green robe, here over a red and golden dress, and the position of her arms, 

as if her right hand could have held a plate or cup with two eyes on it, 

her left hand a sword or palm branche

the statue is carved from one piece of wood, it has remains of 

green polychrome and gilding, and a few, hardly visible, remains of red,

the lower arms, attributes and feet are missing, 

the round base is of a more recent date, 

perhaps made in the south of Europe,

height excl. the round base: circa 16 cm / circa 6.3 inch,

incl. the round base: circa 20 cm / circa 7.8 inch,

weight: circa 153 gr
