Fender '65 Princeton Reverb 12-watt 1 x 10-inch Tube Combo Amp - Black

12W, 1-ch, 1 x 10" Tube Combo Amp with Jensen C10R Speaker, Spring Reverb, Vibrato, and SWX Mods - Black Tolex/Silver Grille

A Sweet-modded Iteration of Fender’s Classic 12-watt Combo

The Fender ’65 Princeton Reverb is one of the company’s most historically significant tube amplifiers, flaunting a sound, style, and all-around vibe that are nothing short of iconic. This tube-fueled live wire is versatile enough to tackle living room rehearsals, studio sessions, and live gigs, churning out dynamic cleans and overdriven textures with equal aplomb. You get a tube-driven spring reverb and tremolo (a.k.a. “vibrato”) that are guaranteed to satisfy your craving for legendary Fender tones. Moreover, Sweetwater’s in-house tube amp technicians have hand-modified this ’65 Princeton Reverb with some of our most-requested mods to provide you with added sonic flexibility and a lusher tremolo effect. Furthermore, the bright, colorful sound of this amplifier’s 10-inch Jensen C10R speaker pairs beautifully with its warm-sounding tube circuit to deliver the magical tone used on countless classic hits. This incarnation of the Fender ’65 Princeton Reverb brandishes a Baltic birch plywood cabinet with eye-grabbing blank-panel aesthetics, including a black Tolex covering and a silver grille cloth.

Upgraded by the SWX Mod Shop

The in-house technicians here at the SWX Mod Shop upgraded this Fender ’65 Princeton Reverb with our most-requested mods, so you can benefit from them as soon as you unbox your new amplifier. First, we added a rear-panel midrange control, enabling you to dial the amp from scooped, black-panel-style tones all the way to mid-forward, Tweed tones that mid-century Fender amps are famous for. We also modified the tremolo speed to a slower rate with a wider range of intensity control to provide you with a lusher-sounding effect than a stock circuit. What’s more, this amplifier is backed by Sweetwater’s exclusive 2-year Total Confidence Coverage warranty, which protects you from product defects and malfunctions — a must-have since modding the amplifier voids the manufacturer’s warranty. Be sure to also check out our SXW Mod Shop Deluxe Reverb.

Iconic Black Panel sound and style

The ’65 Princeton Reverb just bleeds tube tone. Powered by one 12AT7 and three 12AX7 preamp tubes, two 6V6 output tubes, and a 5AR4 rectifier tube, the amp also features tube-driven reverb and tremolo. The ’65 Princeton Reverb is the perfect combo amp for anyone who craves pure Fender tone in a lightweight, low-watt package. Moreover, the ’65 Princeton Reverb is versatile enough to go from the living room to the recording studio to the gig in true Fender style. Whether you’re aiming for naturally dynamic cleans or overdriven grit, you’ll find yourself reveling in the ’65 Princeton Reverb’s tube-soaked tones. We have many Princeton devotees at Sweetwater, and we’re all very excited about our custom-modded version of this classic amp.

The legendary Fender Princeton Reverb

The legendary Fender Princeton Reverb of the 1960s was small, light, and moderately powered. Though intended for practice situations, the Princeton Reverb was capable of big tube tone, and Fender’s world-class reverb and vibrato effects were the icing on the cake. From its inception, countless guitarists have chosen it as their go-to studio amp, crafting signature sounds with a stompbox or two feeding a miked-up Princeton. Today, original Princeton Reverb amps are prized collectibles and are becoming harder to find. The modern incarnation of the ’65 Princeton Reverb offers today’s players all the great tone and dynamics of the original in an affordable, roadworthy reissue. The robust 12-watt platform is a wise choice for creating tube tone in a small space, and it even provides enough output for small gigs and rehearsals.
