Item Description:
This cel features Cherry Pai (Sanae Makieda), a character from the OVA adaptation of the classic mahjong video game Idol Janshi Suchie-Pai II.
The game and characters were designed by Kenichi Sonoda, best known for Gunsmith Cats and Riding Bean.

This production cel was actually used in the animation process, making it a rare piece of anime history.
Because it was preserved for many years, some surface scratches and trace line fading are present.

The paper is stuck to the left cheek area.It probably has been glued when it was stored in a stack.

I left it as it was because trying to peel it off forcefully would likely damage the cel.

The actual animation footage is trimmed to a smaller area than this cel, making this cel the only way to view the full artwork, including parts that are not visible in the final video.

About Suchie-Pai:
Idol Janshi Suchie-Pai II is the second title in a mahjong game series created by Jaleco, originally released as an arcade game in 1994 and ported to the Sega Saturn in 1996.
This OVA is the only anime adaptation of the game’s universe.
Produced by Studio DOME, known for Please Teacher and The Irresponsible Captain Tylor, the animation features high-quality production and stylish visuals.

Special Move: Cherry Bomber – If she declares a kan after a riichi, the winning tile will always come from the dead wall, guaranteeing a "Rinshan Kaihou."
