We drummers love to experiment with our bass drum tones. The Bass Plate unlocks a wealth of new sounds without tuning, muffling, or sacrificing feel. Install the all-metal Bass Plate to the bottom of your kick drum (no drilling required) and attach your kick pedal to the rubber clamping area; Bass Plate gives you 5" of left-right lateral movement for fuller, rounder tones when the occasion demands. Double-pedalers will especially enjoy Bass Plate's ability to position beaters equidistant from center for cleaner, more even strokes. Bass Plate also promises a deeper, more resonant tone overall that players are sure to enjoy.

How does Bass Plate work?

Traditionally, the only way to adjust a beater's striking position was to adjust its height. But as any drummer knows, this can have a dramatic effect on power, timing, and technique. Bass Plate lets you adjust striking position left to right (up to 5") without touching your beater height. Now you can dial in your preferred attack or adjust sounds on the fly for greater expressive freedom.

How to install Bass Plate

Bass Plate attaches directly to your kick drum using its shell hardware. Unscrew your bottom two lugs from the inside, attach Bass Plate to the outside, then replace your lugs. The all-metal bass plate is as stable as the shell itself — stable enough to support kick drums with up to two mounted toms. Drummers at Sweetwater appreciate that Bass Plate's clamping area sits directly under the batter-side hoop to preserve pedal preferences.
