I am selling a TSENG ET4000AX 1024x768 256 color video card compatible with Atari MEGA STE.

Notes:

The Tseng Labs ET4000AX is a 16-bit ISA video card that was very popular in the early 1990s. It uses the ET4000AX graphics chipset and was released around 1990-1991. Video memory ranges from 512 KB up to 1 MB of DRAM, with some models allowing for expansion.

It supported various resolutions and color modes: 640x480 with up to 256 colors (8-bit), 800x600 with up to 256 colors, and 1024x768 with up to 16 colors (4-bit) without an advanced RAMDAC. Some models with improved RAMDACs could display 256 colors even at 1024x768.

Performance was excellent for its time, making the ET4000AX one of the fastest ISA cards, especially appreciated in DOS environments for applications like AutoCAD and VGA games.

It was compatible with CGA, EGA, and VGA standards and also supported Super VGA (SVGA). The monitor connector was the classic 15-pin VGA (DE-15).

Some models were equipped with improved RAMDACs to enhance quality and the number of colors at higher resolutions.

Historically, the ET4000AX was highly valued for its high memory bandwidth compared to other ISA cards. It was widely used in PCs with 386 and 486 processors. It was the last evolution of the ET4000 series on the ISA bus, before Tseng Labs moved to VL-Bus cards with the ET4000/W32 series.

La Tseng Labs ET4000AX è una scheda video ISA a 16 bit, molto popolare nei primi anni '90. Utilizza il chipset grafico ET4000AX ed è stata rilasciata attorno al 1990-1991. La memoria video varia da 512 KB fino a 1 MB di DRAM, con alcuni modelli che permettevano l'espansione.

Supportava diverse risoluzioni e modalità colore: 640x480 fino a 256 colori (8 bit), 800x600 fino a 256 colori, e 1024x768 fino a 16 colori (4 bit) senza RAMDAC avanzato. Con RAMDAC migliorati, alcuni modelli potevano visualizzare 256 colori anche a 1024x768.
