Description

Pumpkin is one of Yayoi Kusama's famous motifs. Motifs are used as allegories in paintings, drawings, sculptures, installations, and as a kind of self-portrait. Kusama is drawn to squash as a source of inspiration because of its "attractive and charming shape, its unpretentiousness and its solid spiritual foundation." Yayoi Kusama's work has been selected for the MoMA collection.
