Such a sweet find. A beautiful & somewhat humble home made vintage curtain in the prettiest floral.

I’m sure it has a story to tell. The floral is the main part of the curtain with a natural toned solid type cotton that resembles feedsack added to the bottom to make it longer. Most likely as thats all they had & made do.

Strikes me as a post war/depression piece, latter 30’s to 40’s.

Somewhat naively sewn yet was probably someone’s pride & joy.

The large scale floral is so beautiful & unique. I believe hand printed cotton. Initially almost looks hand painted. It’s a very interesting printing style. Unique to find.

It has the very best shabby cottage/old shanty appeal.

Condition is overall good. A few small spots on the natural fabric area. May wash or spot clean out.

Simple rod pocket on top. Again, simple & somewhat naively sewn which is definitely part of its charm.

The green tone is slightly oxidized which is inherent of older green dyes. It’s a green somewhere between a dusty mint & avocado.

•••Measures~ 52” wide by 86” long. 12” of the length is the natural solid bottom area.

I think it’s adorable in a shabby cottage farmhouse setting. The fabric is also quite beautiful in projects.
