Great vintage condition! Imperfections in glaze inside of the smaller fish. Large Fish has a small imperfection on the corner of the lid,as well. It feels rough to the touch, but not necessarily a chip. Crazing is present due to age.
These mid 20th century dishes were hand crafted in Portugal. These sad little fish are the perfect addition to any nautical collection (especially if they are a fan of majolica). Or a fun start to a new collection!
The large tureen is signed "FAIANCAS BELO PORTUGAL 640/1"
The Fish Plate is signed "FAIANCAS BELO PORTUGAL 516/2"
While the only thing I can make out on the smaller fish bowl is the word PORTUGAL.
