In 1916 Mack introduced what was to be one of their most popular trucks, the heavy-duty AC The AC was one of the strongest trucks ever made and was a major contributor in road-building, as well as the Hoover and Boulder Dam projects. chain drive. A 4-cylinder engine was standard until 1936 when larger Buda and Cummins diesel engines were offered. The workhorse pictured is powered by a 6-cylinder, 160-hp Cummins diesel with a 7-speed high/low transmission. This Mack AC-6 is thought to be the only restored Boulder Dam-style dump truck in existence.
