NORTHERN PACIFIC DOUBLE SHEATHED BOXCAR #11237

Double-sheathed design boxcars were more common in the earlydecades of the 20th Century. The inner and outer walls protectedthe structural framing and provided better insulation for the car.These were used nationwide to haul a wide variety of goods andcars of this style were common into the steam to diesel transition era.
