Auli'i Cravalho and Dwayne Johnson reprise their roles in this animated adventure sequel. Moana (voice of Cravalho) has been exploring nearby islands in search of other communities connected to the ocean when she receives a vision from her ancestor. After learning that the storm god Nalo (Tofiga Fepulea'i) sunk the legendary island of Motufetu, which connected all islands, and that if it remains submerged then her home of Motunui will soon be uninhabited, Moana assembles a crew to find it.
Meanwhile, Maui (Johnson) is also seeking Motufetu when he runs afoul of Nalo's enforcer Matangi (Awhimai Fraser), but Maui and Moana will need to work together if they are to have any hope of raising Motufetu from the depths of the ocean. The voice cast also includes Temuera Morrison, Nicole Scherzinger and Alan Tudyk.
