This heavy stoneware bowl was acquired several decades ago in Yogyakarta. It would have been made at a kiln in China, and shipped to Indonesia for the Chinese market of the region. Despite extensive research, the provenance of this unique bowl remains a mystery, however probably much older than the early 20th century.
