The former GP250 was contested by machines equipped with 2-stroke V-twin 250cc engines, with manufacturers such as Honda, Yamaha, and Italy's Aprilia putting their factory prestige on the line. Today, Moto2 is a one-make race with a British Triumph 4-stroke 765cc engine.
