A totally charming antique archive, for a discerning collector.  I believe this to be of potential interest to an International clientele.

I am selling an antique archive of needlework patterns and transfers, dating between 1928 - 1941.

They are part of a grouping featuring an original STITCH STITCH 'THE LUCIE ATTWELL NEEDLEWORK BOOK'.

This belonged to my maternal grandmother, Mrs Olive Twells, nee Kostromin.

She was born in 1917.

As with many girls and ladies of her generation, needlework and embroidery were popular hobbies and pastimes.

She had the book prior to her marriage in 1937, but obviously treasured it and continued to collect and use it well into the war years, and most likely afterwards.

I have no one to pass this down to, and at 64, I hope it will find the right new owner.

I feel it is museum quality, as it illustrates a moment in time, when life was challenging but quieter.

This is a unique collection.  Very rare!

I have illustrated this collection as best I can.

There are no longer silks, but there are numerous patterns and transfers still viable to be used today.

Some of the characters may not be entirely politically correct in today's world,  but it is a snap shot back in time.

The loose transfers are as I found them, folded by her.
