HOW IT WORKS

Standard chimney caps let wind blow directly into your flue, causing downdrafts and smoke backdraft. The Chimcare Wind Directional cap has a rotating weathervane-style hood that automatically positions its open side away from the prevailing wind.

Wind flows across the cap opening and creates low pressure above the flue (the venturi effect) — this pulls smoke UP instead of pushing it down. Perfect for homes on hilltops, coastal areas, open farmland, or anywhere wind causes fireplace draft problems.

WHAT IT FITS

For masonry chimneys (brick/stone) with a square or rectangular clay flue tile. NOT for round metal pipe chimneys — see our round Wind Directional listings for those.

HOW TO MEASURE
  1. Go to your roof and locate the clay flue tile sticking up above the chimney crown (the concrete slab)
  2. Measure the OUTSIDE dimensions of the flue tile — Length x Width in inches
  3. Select the cap size that matches your flue tile measurements
