From the author bio:

The author graduated from Annapolis in 1906, and has served for 37 years in the United States Navy through grades of Midshipman, Ensign, Lieutenant (J.G.); Lieutenant; Lieutenant Commander, Commander, and Captain. He has been Engineer, Navigator, Gunnery Officer, First Lieutenant, and Executive Officer of large and small ships. He is a graduate of the Senior Class, U.S. Naval War College. he has commanded individual Destroyers and Two destroyer divisions. While in command of the U.S.S. Ramapo, he made the first bathymetric model of the floor of the North Pacific. His last command was that of a battleship, the U.S.S. Nevada.

CONDITION:

This hard-cover book is in very good condition. There is no dustjacket—I do not believe it was issued with one. The navy blue cloth hardcover is clean with some light wear at the corners and spine ends. The interior is very good with no names, marks, underlining, tears or odor. The paper is toned with age. The hinges are good, but the binding is beginning to crack in a few places. Still, it is holding well with no loose or missing pages.
