Stephen Ray Vaughan was an American blues guitarist and vocalist. He was the frontman and guitarist for the blues rock trio Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble. Vaughan's style was known for being boisterous and frenetic, and he is credited with reviving blues-rock music in the 1980s. He dropped out of high school at age 17 to focus on music. Vaughan played in several garage bands and eventually joined a group that became Double Trouble.
