Ginny, wearing a red and navy blue snowsuit, a coordinating scarf, and faux furry boots, is an 8" thin bodied "Skinny Ginny" doll that was manufactured in Hong Kong for Vogue Dolls Inc.// Subsidiary of Lesney Products Corporation circa 1978. She belongs to "The World of Ginny" dolls that Lesney promoted "Will bring back the fun of yesterday to the mothers of today." Ginny appears UN-played with in her original box, as she still retains the cello around her head and is still attached to her liner. Her box sustains wear, tear, foxing, and soil from age and storage. Its plastic window is dinged and scuffed. The contents are UN-played with! Advertising about this newly designed thin bodied Ginny heralded, "The precious doll that mother played with as a child is now back for her little girl to play with and to treasure just as she did." More information about the "Skinny Ginny" dolls can be referenced in the Vogue Dolls Second Edition Identification and Values Collector's Encyclopedia by Judith Izen and Carol Stover.
