Tips to ensure correct fitment of New Glow Plugs last.

Other issues that can cause failure of new glow plugs or reduce their life expectancy.

·       Erratic, uneven spray by dripping injector nozzles will erode all the new glow plugs.

·       Wrong fitment of glow plugs

·       Incorrect Fitting

·       Engine has excessive overheating problems.

·       Faulty relay causes lengthy power supply to system.

·       Engine work rating has excessive high voltage.

·       Pistons are worn or faulty.

·       Damaged or worn valves.

     Identify Faulty Glow Plugs

Some of the indicators that your existing glow plugs are faulty and need replacing, are as follows.

Hard to Start

The main function of glow plugs is to assist with starting the engine. If your plugs are failing or faulty may result in hard or slow starting, especially on cold mornings.

Faulty glow plugs will affect combustion causing misfires. As engine heats up it will start a short time.

Puffs of Smoke on Startup can Indicate Bad Glow Plugs

Look for black or white puffs of smoke on startup, can be because of excess or unburnt fuel as it exits the tail pipe. Once the engine is running, the fuel will begin burning normally with no obvious smoke.

NOTE: Not all faulty symptoms mean it's your glow plugs

     Areas of issues attributed to faulty or defective glow plugs but are caused by other diesel components. Reduced acceleration or power, the job of the glow plugs is to ignite the combustion chamber and are only in use for seconds during this start up process. After starting there is no effect on fuel consumption or loss of power.
