Beaver Corporation 1/72 Japanese Aircraft Carrier Akagi Bridge and Flight Deck 1941 Pearl Harbor Attack with 1/16 Japanese Navy Officer Figure plastic model.
Akagi is a Japanese Navy aircraft carrier, and its construction began at the Kure Naval Arsenal as a battlecruiser under the 8-8 Fleet Plan of 1907.
However, due to the Washington Conference and the signing of the Naval Limitation Treaty, construction was halted, and it was converted from a battlecruiser to an aircraft carrier within the treaty's restrictions.
The ship was initially completed as a three-deck carrier but was later modified into a single-deck full-length carrier.
Akagi participated in the Pearl Harbor attack in 1941 and then advanced into the Indian Ocean, engaging British forces in the Battle of Ceylon in April 1942.
It sank in the Midway Battle in June of the same year, along with Kaga, Soryu, and Hiryu.
