BareFoot™ Leather NEO
Feel the BareFoot Sensation with Enhanced Hold
The BareFoot Leather NEO keeps the barefoot sensation inside the shoe while improving the hold with a specially designed frame. This update aims to maintain the natural barefoot feel while enhancing support.
The midfoot section uses the same BareFoot Leather material as its predecessor. BareFoot Leather is a microfiber synthetic leather that is as soft as natural leather. This version, updated to BareFoot Leather NEO, focuses on providing a supportive feel without compromising the barefoot sensation. The previous version received positive feedback from many athletes, but some requested more support while maintaining the barefoot feel. After extensive development and testing, we have incorporated an optimal frame into the BareFoot Leather, resulting in the BareFoot Leather NEO, which combines a barefoot feel with enhanced hold.
BareFoot™ Knit NEO
Advanced BareFoot Sensation with Improved Ankle Fit
The BareFoot Knit NEO retains the knit material at the heel and updates the upper pattern around the opening to enhance the barefoot sensation. The previous version introduced BareFoot Knit, which softened the impact on the heel during flexion and improved ankle flexibility. This update focuses on improving the fit around the ankle and providing a visual barefoot sensation. The new BareFoot Knit NEO aims for a seamless integration of shoe and foot by enhancing the hold around the ankle with an updated upper pattern. This version not only enhances the barefoot feel when worn but also visually enhances it compared to its predecessor.
Eyelet Structure
Redesigned for Flexibility and Comfort
The eyelet structure has been redesigned to minimize wrinkles during flexion and pursue a more flexible shape that conforms to the foot. Although most athletes did not mind the previous eyelet structure, Mizuno Football aimed to create an even more flexible eyelet design. The new design minimizes wrinkles during flexion and conforms more closely to the foot.
Outsole Structure
Lighter and More BareFoot Sensation
Based on the fundamental design of the MORELIA NEO 3, the outsole has been updated for an even more barefoot sensation. While maintaining the support of the previous design, we focused on making the outsole lighter by 1-2 grams. Many athletes prefer lighter shoes, and we consider this weight reduction significant. The new outsole design achieves a final shoe weight of approximately 195 grams (27.0 cm, one shoe). We also aimed to reduce the impact felt from the ground. The shank honeycomb structure, which balances lightness and rigidity, remains, and the Y-shaped shank part enhances the barefoot sensation in the midfoot. Professional athletes testing this design have noted the absence of any discomfort, confirming our confidence in the improved barefoot sensation.
Insole Material
Enhanced BareFoot Sensation with Suede-like Material
The insole is one of the first parts that athletes feel when putting on the shoe. Without changing the design of the previous insole, we have focused on a more barefoot-like surface material. For the first time in the MORELIA NEO series, we have adopted a suede-like brushed material used in the MORELIA series. This update provides flexibility when first worn and maintains adequate grip even when sweaty during play.
