Meissen Pair of Serpentine Handled Amphora Vases

Jacksons antique are pleased to offer this pair of Serpentine Handled Meissen Vases. Originally designed by Ernst August Leuteritz 1863-1865, with under glazed blue pommel sword marks 1860-1924, 1st choice Meissen. Embossed model number E153, Bossier number 20 and two other marks, amphora vases screwed in two parts with classicist relief decoration. The vases have two intertwined pairs of snakes as handles and are decorated with a bouquet of spring flowers on both sides in fine polychrome on-glaze painting. 


Condition


Very good condition, no damage or restoration only gilding wear throughout both vases. (see all photos)
