This wonderful textile is French and dates right around 1850-1860 ~I was very lucky to have found a very large set of these! To view the other pieces from the set, please search my store for the word " painterly rose " this panel is SO beautifully aged! It's a light weight cotton as during that time , cotton supplies were scarce due to the American Civil war, so these light and airy textiles were born!~This curtain would have been used as a privacy curtain on a bed set ~*~ This panel is all hand block printed and there is also a narrow border ,also hand block printed! 2 wonderful patterns on one panel ~*~ The ground is wonderfully aged! Warm patina ~ This panel is light cotton ~ with a GORGEOUS design ~ can be backed and used for light upholstery, window curtain etc ~*~
MEASUREMENTS: This gorgeous antique curtain measures 102 inches long by 45 inches wide
CONDITION : This curtain in as found, not freshly laundered condition. This panel is in lovely condition for it's age, but not without signs of time and use ~ there are some discolorations, age marks, ground patina, ~ Lovely condition but not without signs of time and use are often inherent in these wonderful textiles ~*~
