1871 Two Cents, late year of this denomination concept, authenticated / graded / encapsulated by NGC as Fine, F12.  By the 1870s, the mission of the new and varied small denomination of change in circulation was nearing completion; the Mint was catching up to the coinage needs of the Eastern U.S. after the end of the Civil War, and consumers were getting pickier about what coins they preferred to use - and the Indian Head cent was pulling away as a favorite for "my two cents' worth."  Even so - this 1871 2c did circulate well, grading now as a Fine - F12 specimen.  So it is encapsulated for you to enjoy its displayed designs and history.  Enjoy considering.
