This publication provides guidance to teachers to complete the early years foundation stage profile assessment in the 2023/24 academic year.
The EYFS profile must be completed for each child in the final term of the year in which they reach 5. Therefore, it is usually undertaken by reception teachers.
This guidance is for all those in England who are involved in EYFS profile assessments, including:
- Reception and key stage 1 teachers and teams, or other early years practitioners where relevant
- Head teachers and managers
- Local authorities
