New Zealand Pounamu Greenstone Variety: Douglas Creek Serpentine Greenstone Pounamu. 

Item Size: 345mm length, 115-70mm width, 20mm depth at widest points. Weight 822 grams.

Type of finish on the stone: Oiled Polished finish to 800 grit, no chemicals used just sandpaper. When you receive it please keep it oiled as we use no chemicals on the outer. Photos have the matte finish and later in photos is the oiled finish. The cord is 100% cotton.

Detailed description of item: New Zealand Serpentine mix Pounamu From Douglas creek Haast. Made by a local artist and customer of our stone. A Very stunning one of a kind Mere / Patu with Korus integrated which have also the look of a heart.

Korus in Maori refer to the cycle of life and the Mere / Patu was a weapon only used by chiefs or the greatest warriors in combat. With the Hearts integrated this piece stands for a new cycle of peace and love as well as holding our power/ Mana from the past in our memory.

The stone itself is an amazing dark green almost black in some parts with lovely Magnetite inclusions throughout.
