Due to the influx of immigration, New York City streets were often crowded with "street arabs," or children whose families could not afford to keep them in their new country.  Charles Loring Brace created a system of aid for these children which included sending them to Missouri to small farming towns.

CONDITION: Previous owner's name on frontspiece.  Light wear to cover. No other known damage.


Packages mailed to Illinois addresses will be charged Illinois sales tax. Items paid by Paypal can only be mailed to the address shown on the Paypal payment.
SHIPPING TIME
I try to ship no later than the next business day after payment. Due to volume, however, I have a noon cut-off, so, if your payment is received after 12:00 noon, it will not be mailed until at least the next business day. Saturdays and Sundays are not business days. Occasionally, I am out of town on Fridays or Mondays. Packages that will be traveling by FedEx Ground or UPS may take an extra day to get shipped as I am not close to their drop-off locations.
