This is a rare November 27th, 1952 "Playgoer" playbill from the three-night, Pre-Broadway tryout and WORLD PREMIERE engagement of the new JOHN D. HESS comedy "THE GREY-EYED PEOPLE" at the Shubert Theatre in New Haven, Connecticut. (The production would open December 17th, 1952 at the Martin Beck Theatre in New York City and close after only five performances.) ..... The play starred WALTER MATTHAU, VIRGINIA GILMORE and SANDRA DEEL and the cast included TONY BICKLEY, KATHERINE ANDERSON, BRANDON PETERS, JOHN RANDOLPH, EDWARD BRIAN, MICHAEL FREE, CLAY FLAGG, ROSEMARY PRINZ (who would be making her Broadway debut), SALLY JESSUP, MARY GRACE CANFIELD, WALTER KLAVUN, TED TILLER, JANE LLOYD-JONES and JOHN MARTONE .....
