THREE LITTLE PIGS beat-up book Fern Bisel Peat 1932 gouache Saalfield Publishing
This is “The Three Little Pigs,” by Fern Bisel Peat, a previously-owned hardcover kids book manufactured by Saalfield Publishing in 1932. It is in fair shape, as it shows lots of wear-and-tear, some taped areas, has some chipped edges, and has an inscription written in the front…
Fern Bisel Peat (1893-1971) was an American painter from Erie, Pennsylvania, who was known for her children’s book illustrations. She created gouache on paper drawings for ‘Mother Goose Nursery Rhyme’ compilations for the poem “Three Men in a Tub.” She also founded an interior-decorating studio with her husband, where she specialized in designing material for children, including textiles, wallpaper, and murals.
