Signed and inscribed by Harper (using his famous nickname "Baldy") to fellow FEE economist Dr. Herrell De Graff of the Cornel University School of Agriculture. Harper, best know for founding the Institute for Humane Studies, was an early and influencial figure in the American Libertarian Movement. Murray Rothbard considered him to be his biggest mentor and he belonged to the Mont Pelerin Society along with his friends Ludwig Von Mises, Friedrich Hayek, Milton Friedman, and Karl Popper, eventually becoming the institutes president. The present work has been republished by the Mises Institute and is widely viewed as Harper's definitive statement on libertarianism.
