This belt drive player was developed by inheriting Yamaha's player technology.
The drive system is a belt drive system, and the 30cm die-cast aluminum turntable with a perfectly dynamic balance and high-precision finish is driven by a 4-pole synchronous motor with constant speed rotation.
Furthermore, the player is suspended entirely by a unique double-float suspension, a mechanism also used in the YP-700.
The player is equipped with an auto mechanism: when the tone arm is placed on the record surface and the play & off switch is pressed, the arm slowly moves down to start playing the record, and when the play is finished, the arm automatically returns to the arm rest and the turntable stops. When the playback is finished, the arm automatically returns to the arm rest and the turntable stops.
This auto mechanism is mechanically free during record playing, so it does not put any burden on the needle tip or the record.
A J-shaped tone arm made of light alloy pipe is used for the tone arm, which is a simple total mass-balanced type designed to suppress resonance in the arm section. In addition, an anti-skater mechanism corresponding to needle pressure of 1.5g to 2.5g is built into the inside of the player panel.
In addition, a sub-weight for heavy-weight cartridges is included.
The headshell is an EIA standard plug-in type, and the contacts are gold-plated.
