Concert Room and Orchestra Anecdotes of Music and Musicians Ancient and Modern
By
Thomas Busby
Publisher: Clementi & Co., 1825, first edition. Two Volumes bound in quarter blue cloth over marbled boards with handwritten paper title labels on the spines. Very good condition, a little rubbing to the marbled paper, and light bumping to the spines. Each volume has "H-L-F Guermonprez 'Pratten Legacy' 1889" printed on the front endpapers. Both volumes have some damp staining to the title page and frontispiece, and Vol. I has a corner clipped from the title page (probably to remove an owner name). The plates have some toning and offsetting onto the facing pages, occasional marks, mainly clean and bright. Illustrated with; Vol. I folding frontispiece, 3 portrait plates and a folding plate 'Sound', Vol. II frontispiece, 4 portrait plates and one folding plate 'Fac similes of Celebrated Composers' (Purcell and Samuel Wesley).
