Anita Loos (1888-1981) was an American actress, novelist, playwright, and screenwriter. She was the first female staff screenwriter in Hollywood, hired by D. W. Griffith in 1912. She wrote over 140 films in her career, including:

Gentlemen Prefer Blondes is a 1925 comic novel by American author Anita Loos. The story is written in the form of a diary by Lorelei Lee, a young blonde gold-digger. The novel follows Lorelei as she entertains suitors across Europe before returning home to marry a millionaire.
