・The Paper Moon series of lamps is based on the techniques of Gifu lanterns, a specialty of Gifu that has been produced since the Edo period.

・The simple, natural, and organic form and the gentle light through the Japanese paper are designed to be familiar to everyone.

・The humorous form, reminiscent of an egg or gourd, expresses the Japanese principle of "wabi-sabi," or the idea of finding beauty in all aspects of nature's imperfections.

・The form and the texture of the washi paper are extremely "Japanese" and at the same time fit in well with any space, both Japanese and Western.

・Designed by Shigeru Uchida and delicately handcrafted from Japanese paper at a 90-year-old factory in Gifu Prefecture.

・Gifu lanterns are handcrafted by skilled artisans using thin, high-quality Mino washi from the Mino region of Gifu Prefecture and bamboo nurtured by the rich nature of Gifu.

・In 1995, it was selected as a "traditional craft" designated by the Japanese government.

・Paper Moon, made with these techniques, is a table lamp/floor lamp with a lovely soft form.

・Shigeru Uchida has been involved in a wide range of activities in Japan and abroad, including commercial and residential spaces, furniture, industrial design, and community development.

・Uchida's product designs, created from the perspective of an interior designer, have always been rooted in the essence of traditional Japanese beauty, while keeping an eye on the times.
