You are considering a hardback book, with DJ,
REGIMENTS AND CORPS OF THE BRITISH ARMY by Ian S. Hallows; PUBLISHER: New Orchard, London, England; 1991 printing; 320 pages. .95 price on DJ flap.
The regimental system has been a fundamental element of the British Army for more than a hundred years. Based on regional identities, the system elicits a fierce loyalty from soldiers steeped in the traditions and history of their unit and native region. As a result of amalgamations a smaller army has evolved, and the focus of pride has inevitably been broadened; sometimes it has been eliminated altogether with the disbandment of a regiment; at other times it has largely been untouched--notably the Scottish division.
Condition: No known damage.
