This is a rare January 5th, 1903 program (playbill) from the one-week, Post-Broadway engagement of Mr. E. S. WILLARD and his Company in repertory at the Providence Opera House in Providence, Rhode Island. On Monday, January 5th, 1903, the company presented the T. W. ROBERTSON play "DAVID GARRICK" preceded by the Comedietta "A SILENT WOMAN". On Tuesday evening, January 6th, 1903 and Wednesday afternoon, January 7th, 1903, the company presented the LOUIS N. PARKER play "THE CARDINAL". On Wednesday evening, January 7th, 1903, the company presented the the J. J. DILLEY and L. CLIFTON play "TOM PINCH" based on characters in CHARLES DICKENS' "Martin Chuzzelwit". (The Original Broadway production of "David Garrick" opened August 16th, 1869 at the Theatre Comique in New York City. This revival opened December 2nd, 1902 at New York's Garden Theatre. The front cover features GRACE GEORGE and ANNIE WARD TIFFANY who would appear the following week in the Pre-Broadway engagement of the Frances Aymar Mathews drama "Pretty Peggy" ..... CONDITION: (Please Note!) There are two sets of tiny staple holes on the left side, slight discoloration to the outside edge of the front cover, light soiling to several inside pages, a few small tears and moderate edge wear. Despite these flaws, this rare program will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
