You are considering a hardcover book, with DJ,
THE PRICE GUIDE TO ANTIQUE SILVER by Peter Waldron; PUBLISHER: Antique Collectors' Club; 1997 printing; 368 pages.
Antique silver is one of the oldest and bes loved collecting subjects and when one handles a good piece it is easy to see why. At the top end of quality scale, the work that went into making a fine piece was of an extremely high order, for those who bought quality pieces in the past and were exacting connoisseurs whose reputation as men of taste made it essential that their table decorations, ornaments and small necessities of life impressed those who receieved hospitality from them. But the majority of silver was used in the middle levels of British society and the collector of today has clearly to understand the varying qualities of production that he encounter if he is to buy well and avoid the showy but inferior pieces which may delude the unknowledgeable both when they were made and now.
Condition: Book plate on inside front cover. No other known damage.
