This is a rare January 3rd, 1944 "Stagebill" playbill from the National Tour engagement of the OLE OLSEN and CHIC JOHNSON "crazy" musical "SONS O' FUN" at the Civic Opera House in Chicago, Illinois. (The production opened December 1st, 1941 at New York's Winter Garden Theatre, moved to the 46th Street Theatre on March 29th, 1943 and ran for a combined 742 performances while simultaneously playing on the road.) ..... The show starred OLSEN and JOHNSON and featured JOE BESSER (who replaced SHEMP HOWARD in the "Three Stooges" in 1956), FRANK LIBUSE, WYNN MURRAY, LIONEL KAYE, ROSARIO and ANTONIO, The PITCHMEN, STEVE OLSEN, MARGOT BRANDER, JACK WHITNEY, JUNE JOHNSON, JEANNE MOOREHEAD, DONAT GAUTIER, MORAN and WISER, JAMES LITTLE, DONALD GREEN, BOBBY JARVIS, KITTY MURRAY, RENNA and D' AMATO, IVAN BANKOFF, MAGNA and CONRAD, SIDNEY GIBSON, SHANNON DEAN, IVAN SARANOFF, EDDIE SMITH, JOHN HOWES, ENKOWE and ALLEN, JEROME WILLIAMS and the CRYSTAL TWINS ..... CONDITION: With the exception of a nick in the back cover at the top seam (last scanned image) and moderate edge wear, this playbill is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any musical theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
