DESCRIPTION This pack of 10 shear pin bolts with lock nuts protects the auger gearbox on two-stage snow blowers and snow throwers. Shear pins are a sacrificial soft-metal bolt engineered to break when the auger strikes a rock, ice chunk, or other obstruction, preventing costly damage to the gearbox and drivetrain. Always keep extras on hand -- each machine typically uses two pins, one per auger shaft. These pins replace Oregon 80-740 / 80740 and Rotary 916 catalog numbers and are compatible with a wide range of Ariens large-frame, John Deere, Snapper, Kees, and Toro walk-behind snowblowers.
