Leonard W. Miller, Miller was the founder, in 1972, of the Black American Racers Association (BARA). He was the first black to enter a team in the Indianapolis 500. In 1976, he was inducted into the Black Athletes Hall of Fame for his achievements in motor racing.
Leonard T. Miller, son of Leonard W. Miller, is a co-author of this book. Miller and his father were the first African American team owners to win a track championship in the history of NASCAR.
Ronald Hines was the first black Ivy League-educated auto racing engineer on America's road racing circuits. He was a co-founder of BARA and an engineer for the organization.
