5 VINTAGE RESTAURANT SILVER BUTTER KNIVES UNION AVE SOCIAL CLUB PORTLAND OREGON. Used condition, great piece of Portland history.

The Union Avenue Social Club dates back to 1926 when it was organized for the sole purpose of social gatherings; such as dancing, playing bridge, and other social activities of that time and era. It was located on the corner of Union Ave. and Russell St. Hence the name Union Avenue Social Club. In 1937 after prohibition they moved to the present location and obtained a liquor license to operate as a private bottle club. The building in which the UASC is now located has been standing for a hundred years with some rather nefarious enterprises being conducted here through these years. At one time a bawdy house flourished in the upper premises of the building. It was here that a former Portland Police Chief and a newspaper columnist shot it out with two holdup men. With the oldest liquor license in the city of Portland and the restoration of its former name, the Union Avenue Social Club is once again proving to be Portland's

most popular gathering place.

Union Ave Social Club Closed, then it was the Grand Cafe, that closed. Now it’s the Pour Sports Bar & Grill.
