Wakizashi Musashi Ichi by John Lee

Wakizashi Musashi Ichi by John Lee
Miamoto Musashi (1584-1645) was one of Japan’s most imposing samurai, often called the greatest swordsman of all time.
He was a master artist and craftsman who founded his own school of tsuba making, best known for the simple double oval tsuba.
The Wakizashi Musashi Ichi from the John Lee series is a masterpiece of Asian swordsmanship. Hand-forged from carbon steel and traditionally hardened. With a sharpened blade to reduce weight and a hilt (tsuka) made of wood and covered with real fish skin. The handle is wrapped (tsuka-ito) in traditional black cotton and has two decorative handles (menuki). Continuing with the hilt (tsuka), it is anchored to the blade with bamboo pins (mekugi). Finally, the scabbard (saya) is made of wood and the blade has a brass collar (habaki) so that it does not make noise in the scabbard.
