BLACK LACQUER MOTHER OF PEARL INLAY HAND PAINTED WALL PLAQUE SET LOT 4 PANELS HORSE VTG

Up for your consideration is this Incredible SET of Vintage Asian Black Lacquered Hand Painted Wall Plaques with Mother of Pearl Inlay. This artwork would be amazing for any horse lover! Made by skilled artisans these 4 panels were completely handmade from locally sourced wood to create this beautiful scene of wild horses running through the hillside. The colorful background including the sunset was hand painted in rich colors that compliment the inlay very nicely. Each one of the horses was created from pieces of mother of pearl shell and was hand applied to the panels resulting in array of unique pearlescent shades.   • ADD. INFO: The process to create these beautiful works of art is intricate and time consuming. Its starts by drawing the scene on paper. Then thin layers of the inside of mother of pearl are peeled from the inside of shells and placed over a sheet of wax paper then glued together at the edges making a thin sheet of mother of pearl. Wax paper goes over that and then another layer of mother of pearl. They may make as many as 10 layers stacked on top of each other to form a block. The original drawing is then glued over the top piece of wax paper. Then the incredibly intricate work starts by cutting each line of the drawing with a very fine tooth saw until each individual piece is cut away from the main block of shells. Once they have been cut into individual pieces they are placed onto the black lacquer surface and then a clear coat is applied on top of them.

  • CONDITION: This LOT OF 4 comes to you in overall excellent condition. As you can see in the pictures, the first panel on the left and the 3rd one have a tiny bit of damage from being stacked improperly. The hooks from the back scratched the enamel. The scratch on the first panel is about 3/8" and the scratch on the 3rd panel is much smaller. Aside from that these are in overall excellent condition with vibrant colors and display beautifully.  AUTHENTICITY and your SATISFACTION are UNCONDITIONALLY 100% GUARANTEED!!!     You really like the thing, but not so much the price...

    I find cool stuff, do some research and list it for what I think it's worth. Sounds pretty simple but sometimes not. So if this is something you really like but its a bit more than you had hoped to pay, then be sure to watch this because I can't send it to the bank, and if it ends without a buyer chances are good that I will drop the price and re-list it until it does sell! Two things for sure - it will get sold sooner rather than later, and that's better for both of us.
