Our Wire Rope Grips, manufactured from mild steel with a zinc coating for corrosion resistance, are suitable for use on board boats in a rigging setup, or similar applications on land. The main use of these grips is to create loops of wire in a rope assembly, or when a temporary join is needed.
These are used for assemblies designed for lifting purposes. Please ensure these are installed by a qualified person.
Notes on assembly and use:
1 - Prior to fitting, the threads on the nuts and bolts should be well greased.
2 - Spacing between the grips should be at least 6 times the diameter of the rope.
3 - Ensure the grip is always orientated correctly, the 'u' bolt is placed on the unloaded end of the rope.
4 - Tighten each nut evenly and in turn to achieve the recommended torque settings.
5 - Leave unused for 24 hours and check torque setting again, re-tighten if necessary.
6 - After first application of the load, re-check torque setting, re-tighten if necessary.
7 - During service periodically check the torque setting.
